A view across the harbour giving some idea of the steep descent up from the beach at Clovelly. All the houses at by the landing beach are occupied and have great views but obviously plagued by tourists in summer. Lunch at the Red Lion pub is well worth having to face the climb back to the top. You can order inside and eat on the harbour wall with a lovely cold pint. The food is excellent and local. This is one of the finest spots on the Devon coast but be warned you need a degree of fitness to make the journey to and from the car park on at the top. Clovelly is unusually a privately owned village and an entrance fee is payable but does not come across as a theme park.
