I live in a beautiful area of Somerset and try to take photographs with my Olympus OM–D E–M10 Mark III daily. I am also a travel writer and my photography reflects my travels to France, especially Paris and Provence. Most of my photography is taken with Olympus OM-D E-M10 III camera with Olympus EZ lenses. I work from RAW files in the main.
Currently I live in Somerset and the majority of my day to day photography is around Weston Super Mare and surroundings. Somerset offers many options with lovely countryside and coast as well as interesting towns and cities such as Wells and Cheddar. Around Weston there are the two outcrops of land at Brean Down and Sand Point that offer peaceful walks and glorious views along the Bristol Channel and over to South Wales. The two bays between the points offer the most stunning sunsets whichg I feel are difficult to beat anywhere in the UK.
Being close to Devon and Cornwall I am able to visit these popular areas regularly. Trying to visit in the more quiet months I can reduce the number of people on the photos – sometimes. South Devon is an area I love to photograph. Much less densly touristy the South Hams in particular give great opportunities for a photographer. The area around Slapton Sands, infamous as the tragic place of destruction in a training exercise for D-Day, is a beautiful place with a nature reserve by the beach. Cornwall I particularly love for the small fishing ports and enjoy capturing the atmosphere of the Cornish coast.
As a French travel writer I use my photography in my French travel books. I have a strong collection of photos from Paris and Provence in particular. Paris is a fascinationg place for me as I love history and never tire of walking the streets of Paris with camera in hand. With some photography from other regions I do hope you enjoy a tour de France.
